Devour (2023)
DEVOUR is a solo in process by Ireno Júnior (PI) that has been built within the Dqtf Creation, Production and Training Platform (Dances We Have Made). The work proposes a scenic investigation, in dance, based on the need to be devoured by the dance on stage. The choreographic construction is configured as a kind of imaginary co(u)ro that makes corporeal materiality a movement of life and death through time-space, with the intention of being stirred as a tropical fruit, as a devouring act of the hauntings that permeate the leather, as well as through the action of tasting-drinking-devouring-chewing-licking-swallowing… the world in one’s own flesh. Arms (2018)
Arms is a dance solo by Ireno Júnior that addresses issues related to his master's degree in Dance held at UFBA: Dancing with the intention of summoning the mother's arms, asking for passage to dance with invisibilities, dancing the memories that affect the flesh, body that dances in gira, body vulnerable when dancing. This show was created in artistic residency at Campo-Arte Contemporânea, located in Teresina-PI-BR, in 2018 and features the dramaturgy of Piauí choreographer Marcelo Evelin. The initial production of Braços Pra Que te Quero was carried out by Regina Veloso, based on Ireno Júnior's relationship when he was a resident of the space. The arms were contemplated by the state culture incentive law -SIEC PI (2017), via SECULT PI and Armazém Paraíba, through the wind project, which proposed artistic developments of the partnership between Ireno Júnior and Samuel Alvís, and which collaborates directly with the Show. Unfolded Wind (2017)
Eolic is a breath, a twist that twists and bends, until it unfolds in need, attempt and resistance. A breath that is vital! Aeolian is a solo that unfolds in two -one/another- and emerges as the ""wind"", in an investigation by its creators, Samuel Alvís and Ireno Júnior, at Campo - Arte Contemporânea, in 2017, through the residency Teresina Tohoku, and in dialogue with the artist Marcelo Evelin. Eólico Desdobrado happened by looking in the body for some questions that persist in the dance scene: What characterizes a dance work? And how or when does a work cease to be? “To make wind would be to resist in the body to survive and continue. Eolic as well as wind, it changes, accelerates, slows down and unfolds rubbing this place of insistence and resistance and questions the perspectives of what, and in what the work is configured.” Information: CREATION AND DESIGN: SAMUEL ALVÍS AND IRENO JÚNIOR CO-CREATION AND ARTISTIC DIRECTION: IRENO JUNIOR PERFORMER: SAMUEL ALVÍS AND IRENO JÚNIOR SOUNDTRACK: SAMUEL ALVÍS ACKNOWLEDGMENTS: MARCELO EVELIN E CAMPO - CONTEMPORARY ART DURATION: 50 MINUTES FREE CLASSIFICATION PHOTOS: MAURICIO POKEMON
Solo wind (2016)
Eolic is a body that tries to make wind, and its concerns arise from air, space, its relationship with life and necessity. Making wind would be resisting in the body to survive and keep dancing. Wind like wind, changes, speeds up, moves, slows down and sustains itself by trying to do and repeat as its resistance action.
